TEMPERATURE RISE TESTER
AGING TESTER OF ELECTRONIC COMPONENT (BS7288/IEC62540, IEC61008, IEC61009)
Temperature Rise Test is designed and supplied as follows:
Type 1: Low Voltage and High Current Type
Type 2: High Voltage and High Current Type
Type 1:
In this type, high current is generated from a low voltage for Temperature Rise Test. Current may be varied using a manual/motorized Variac. No resistive load will be used. For temperature measurement of the sample under test, suitable sensors, indicators/controllers/data loggers will be provided as per customer requirements.
Type 2:
This method is usually applied for rated voltage and rated current applications. In this method, a resistive load is not used to reduce the power consumption during long test durations.
APPLICATIONS:
- Switch Temperature Test at rated voltage 250V AC and rated current 20A.
In this application, rated 250V AC and rated current are applied to the sample to be tested without using a resistive load. Due to this method, power consumption will be 5–15% of power consumed if a resistive load is used, depending upon testing conditions.
- Cable Temperature Rise Test at rated voltage 250V AC and rated current 4000A.
In this application, rated 250V AC and rated current are applied to the sample to be tested without using a resistive load. Due to this method, power consumption will be 5–15% of power consumed if a resistive load is used, depending upon testing conditions.
ADVANTAGES:
This method saves a lot of money for long duration tests like 6 hours On and 6 Hours Off for continuously 10 days and electronic components aging testing for 41 days at the rated voltage and rated current of the product. Also, by reducing the incoming power requirement of the plant, it makes the test as a viable one.
Power Saving: Power Consuming for 250V at 4000A Using Resistive Load per hour: 250×1000 = 1000000W = 1000 Units For 6 Hours: 1000×6 = 6000 Units Per day Power Consumption: 6000×2 = 12000 Units For 10 Days: 12000×10 = 1,20,000 Units. If Power Tariff is 7.50/Unit Total Power Tariff for 10 days: 120000×7.50 = Rs. 9.0 Lakhs
If the above technique is used, power tariff will be around Rs. 90,000 for 10 days of testing. If we consider the incoming power requirement expenses, multiple millions will be saved.
